Basin Assistance Services

Basin Assistance Services (BAS) is a non-profit Ryan White HIV/AIDS service organization under the direction of PermiaCare.  Our staff of caring, trained professionals is available to provide free, confidential support and assistance.  Case managers will coordinate your care plan with services we provide as well as those provided by other agencies and support groups.  Bilingual staff is available.  Volunteers for all programs and services are welcomed.

Basin Assistance Services provides services to the following counties:  Andrews, Borden, Crane, Dawson, Ector, Gaines, Glasscock, Howard, Loving, Martin, Midland, Pecos, Reeves, Terrell, Upton, Ward, and Winkler.

Knowledge is Key.  Anyone can contract the HIV virus.  No one is immune to HIV.  Men, women, and children can be infected.  It is very important to be informed on how the virus is passed from person to person.  It is just as critical to understand how you can't get HIV in order to lessen fear and misunderstanding.

Confidentiality.  All services here are provided confidentially.  As a client, please respect the confidentiality of other persons you may meet through your participation at Basin Assistance Services.

  • Free condoms
  • HIV Specialist clinic visits
  • Regular blood work
  • Medication assistance
  • Dental care
  • Referred physician services
  • Medical case management
  • Rides to medical appointments
  • Education/awareness on HIV diagnosis
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Housing and utility assistance (HOPWA)
  • Social services case management

Items Required for Enrollment: 

  • Picture ID
  • Proof of Current Income (check stubs, Social Security Letter, etc.
  • Proof of Texas Residence
  • Proof of HIV + Diagnosis

Enrollment appointments are preferred.  Please plan at least two (2) hours for the enrollment process.

Hours of Operation:  M-F 8-12 and 1-5

Please notify the office if you need a home, hospital, or other off-site appointment.  If you need emergency assistance, please go to the nearest hospital emergency room.
